Where to Keep Your Chinese Elm Bonsai

Chinese Elm bonsai are wonderfully versatile and can be kept indoors or outdoors. Indoors, place your bonsai in a bright position with plenty of natural light, ideally near a window that doesn't much direct sunlight. Avoid placing it directly above radiators or in very hot, dry areas or bathrooms and kitchens.

If kept outdoors, choose a bright, sheltered position with good natural light. Chinese Elms enjoy being outside during the warmer months but should be given good winter protection in the colder months or ideally bought inside.

Each Bonsai is Unique

Every bonsai is naturally unique, so there will be slight differences in the shape, size, trunk and foliage from tree to tree. Our bonsai pots are also handmade, meaning small variations in colour, finish and small glazing cracks are part of their individual character. These natural differences make every bonsai truly one of a kind.

Sizes

Available as 8, 12 or 16-year-old specimens, in 15cm, 20cm and 25cm pots, with approximate overall heights of 30cm, 35cm and 45cm respectively. Choose the age and size that best suits your space and style. 

Please note: All measurements are approximate. Heights are measured from the bottom of the pot to the top of the tree. As our ceramic pots are individually glazed, small variations, minor blemishes and fine glazing cracks may naturally occur. These are part of the character of the pot and do not affect its function.
